What you'll do
As our Cloud Security Engineer, you'll focus on the technical aspects of our information system security, improving defences and security monitoring, detecting and addressing vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents, while ensuring alignment with relevant security regulations and standards. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Risk teams to keep our platform secure and compliant as we scale.
You will:
Build and improve security management infrastructure and tools (AWS, CI/CD, Google WS, MS365)
Perform deep-dive technical risk assessments
Automate security monitoring and reporting (secret scanning, application/container scanning, etc.) and introduce or enhance security practices (e.g. vulnerability management and threat modelling)
Implement and manage tools for automated secure development practices
Advise teams on selecting, implementing, and configuring relevant IT security tools to meet best-practice standards
Actively participate in incident response: detection, containment, investigation, and recovery
Investigate alerts and incidents, refine detection rules, and drive continuous improvement
Facilitate security awareness through training, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration
Your professional skills and background
Must-haves
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, system and network management, compliance, or related roles (experience in a regulated company within the financial services industry is a bonus)
Hands-on experience with key AWS services (e.g., IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, Java)
Strong communication skills in English and Latvian, both written and spoken
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and take initiative
Nice-to-haves
Experience with automation and configuration management tools, including Terraform, Ansible, or similar
Good knowledge of relevant security standards and laws (e.g., CIS, OWASP, GDPR); knowledge of regulations related to the financial services industry (e.g., DORA) will be a bonus; relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security, Security+, CEH) will be a bonus
