As our Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel, Investment Services & Products, you'll  work on a broad range of legal and financial regulation matters relating to investment services and products offered by Mintos across Europe (www.mintos.com). You’ll work with Product, Marketing, Finance, Partnerships teams and others to enable compliant growth.

You will:

• Draft, review, and maintain legal and regulatory documentation for asset-backed securities and investment offerings, including prospectuses, final terms, contracts, investor disclosures, risk descriptions, and disclaimers

• Provide legal advice and internal guidance on EU financial regulatory frameworks (including MiFID II, PRIIPs, MAR, and the Prospectus Regulation)

• Advise on and ensure the consistent application of Mintos’ terms of service and other legal terms applicable to investment services

• Actively support product development and UX design to ensure compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations

• Review marketing materials (web, app, and campaigns) and provide legal input to ensure regulatory adherence

• Manage cross-border passporting of investment services and maintain legal knowledge on EU and non-EU market access requirements

• Communicate with the Bank of Latvia and other national authorities on regulatory matters related to Mintos services and products

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with service providers and cooperation partners

• Support complex or ad hoc investor and regulatory matters, including complaints, regulatory inquiries, and inheritance cases

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and the wider legal team, working independently as well as alongside senior legal counsel and the CLO
  

Experience & educational background:

Must-haves: 

• Law degree from a reputable university with strong academic performance

• 3+ years of experience in financial services law at a reputable law firm or within the legal function of an investment firm, bank, or other regulated financial institution in the EU

• Hands-on experience with EU investment services and products regulation (e.g., MiFID II, PRIIPs, MAR, Prospectus Regulation)

• Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate complex regulatory requirements in a practical, business-oriented manner

• Excellent legal drafting skills

• Very good command of English and Latvian (written and spoken)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take initiative

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across teams
  

Nice-to-haves: 

• Master’s degree in law or LLM

• Experience with cross-border passporting and multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks

• Background in investment products, securities, or fintech

• Knowledge of additional EU or non-EU regulatory regimes
