What you'll do
As our Senior Backend Engineer, you'll improve manual investment functionality, enhance automated portfolio management, improve customer experience with their investment return graphs, reports, return. Your focus will be Bonds, which means delivering new features for the Bonds product. You'll work with Mid and Senior Engineers (both Java and PHP).

You will:

• Design and ship backend features for our distributed Bonds product system

• Architect and deliver new microservices - from the design stage to the delivery pipeline

• Work with backend and frontend developers in order to deliver robust and scalable APIs

• Pioneer new technologies and patterns when existing solutions don't meet our scale requirements

• Design systems that handle complex financial computations while maintaining accuracy and auditability

• Contribute to architectural decisions that impact our entire marketplace infrastructure

• Share knowledge and support peers

Your professional skills and background

Must-haves 

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with PHP, and modern frameworks (ideally Symfony)

• Strong understanding of MySQL/PostgreSQL at scale - complex schema design, query optimization for large datasets, efficient indexing strategies

• Experience with data-intensive applications and batch processing patterns

• Solid grasp of software design patterns, clean architecture, and SOLID principles

• Experience designing APIs that handle high-throughput financial operations

• Comfortable with automated testing in complex domain contexts

• Strong communication skills in English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers for async processing, as well as GraphQL

• Knowledge of financial calculations, accounting principles, or investment domain

• Exposure to polyglot environments (Java/PHP interoperability)
